One-time Federal Bureau of Investigation Employee Alleges Unlawful Firing Due to LGBTQ+ Symbol Presence

An experienced Federal Bureau of Investigation operative has filed legal action stating his terminated for exhibiting a Pride flag in his office space.

The comprehensive complaint, lodged in federal court in Washington, D.C., claims that the plaintiff was fired from the FBI academy in October over previously exhibiting the banner on his desk.

Per the filing, the Pride flag was awarded to Maltinsky in recognition of his efforts to support the bureau’s equality efforts.

Early on, my only desire has been to serve the nation and protect public safety together with the talented and committed individuals at the agency,” remarked the plaintiff.

He further stated, I exhibited that banner – which in 2021 flew in front of the Los Angeles office – not as a political statement, but as a symbol of diversity, togetherness and fair treatment.

Abrupt Dismissal Before Graduation

Earlier this year, Maltinsky was accepted into the bureau’s agent training academy at the FBI facility, before his “unexpected firing just three weeks before finishing”.

The complaint additionally states that later after Donald Trump’s inauguration, a co-worker raised a complaint to his manager about the display of the rainbow banner.

They alleged that Patel stated he had been ordered by the president’s office to dismiss any employee participating in an inquiry concerning Donald Trump.
