The New England Patriots matched their top unbeaten stretch from the Tom Brady era as they defeated AFC East opponents the Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three scores as the New England squad secured an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since star signal-caller Brady's last year with the team in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Drake Maye passed for 281 yards and a TD, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The win extends the New England's advantage at the top of the AFC East as they moved to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had taken the lead at their home field with quarterback Fields scoring a five-yard TD to finish the New York's opening drive

But the Patriots fought back in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back grabbed a reception from Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third quarter to make it 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep earning playing time," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He desires to be great."

Justin Fields found John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Borregales kicked a two field goals in the final period as the home side closed out the victory
