Barça to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
