A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
